Kim Blackwell Benton is a lifelong Sussex County resident who brings a deep knowledge of the area, a genuine love for her community, and decades of experience serving others to her career in real estate.
Before becoming a REALTOR®, Kim spent nearly 30 years in education as a teacher and school administrator, ultimately serving as a principal. That experience shaped the way she approaches real estate today—with strong communication, attention to detail, patience, problem-solving skills, and, most importantly, a commitment to taking care of people.
As a member of the Griffin Higgins Team, Kim has built her real estate business around relationships rather than transactions. She believes buying or selling a home is personal, and she treats it that way. Whether helping first-time buyers, families making their next move, clients relocating to Sussex County, or sellers preparing a longtime home for the market, Kim is there to guide, advocate, communicate, and do whatever she can to make the process easier. Her clients quickly learn that when Kim says she’ll take care of something, she means it.
Having lived in Sussex County her entire life, Kim offers her clients something that can’t be learned from a map. She knows the communities, the people, and the lifestyle that make this area such a special place to call home.
When she isn’t working with clients, Kim’s favorite place to be is with her husband, Chad, and their family—preferably with some beach time involved. After many years as a swim official, referee, and starter, she thought her days on the pool deck were behind her. But with one of her children now serving as the Aquatics Director at the local Boys & Girls Club, she keeps that certification current… just in case she’s needed. Because whether it’s family, friends, or clients, Kim has never been particularly good at saying, “That’s not my job.”

Our experience with buying a home with Kim Benton was great. We met her at one of her open houses that didn't quite work for us, but we connected with her right away. She helped us with our search, and we found the perfect home. She went above and beyond, even looking at houses and sending pictures and videos for us ahead of time since we had a 3 hour drive.
